Sharing in the Eucharist joins us most fully to Christ and to the Church. We share in the one sacrifice of Christ. The bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the words of the priest. We receive the Body and Blood of Christ.

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live forever;... he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life and...abides in me, and I in him." (Jn 6:51, 54. 56)
